Four Ways To Customize Your Soap Boxes

If you make homemade soaps, you could just wrap them in paper and sell them — but that would be blending into the crowd! If you really want your soaps to stand out from the competition, consider selling them in individual boxes. This makes your product seem more luxurious and sets you apart from the competition. Here are four ways to customize your soap boxes so customers remember them as clearly as your soap itself.

1. Include a Foam Interior

You have probably purchased appliances and jewelry that came nestled inside a foam insert within the box. This creates a much nicer presentation than just plopping the soap in a plain box. The foam keeps the soap from rattling around, so it does not get chipped or scratched before your customer gets it home.

There are packaging companies, like Package Design Global, that make specialized foam inserts. If you give them the dimensions of your boxes and the dimensions of your soaps, they can create foam inserts that perfectly cradle your product. You could even have inserts made for larger boxes that hold three bars of soap.

2. Include Information About Ingredients

Simply listing the ingredients in your soap is nice, but why not take this one step further? List each ingredient and describe what it does. For instance, for a lavender, lemon, and chamomile soap, you could list:

  • Lavender: Relaxes and opens the mind
  • Lemon: Leaves your skin feeling refreshed and detoxified
  • Chamomile: Soothes itching and irritation

This way your soap label educates your customers. They will have an easier time shopping for soap in the future because they know what various ingredients do.

3. Include a Mini Biography

One of the great things about owning your own soap company is that you get to be closely connected with your products and customers. So why not include a little blurb about yourself on the label? A few sentences telling your customers about your history and how you came to love soap would be nice. As customers learn more about you, they will come to share your passion for your product.

4. Include Numbers for a Random Drawing

A fun way to get your customers more engaged in your business is to include a random number on the bottom of each box of soap. Then, once a month, post one of the numbers from a box that you sold on your Facebook page. Reward the person who has the box with a free bar of soap!

With the ideas above, your soap will soon be the talk of the town.
